Terrone Jerel Hill, affectionately known as TJ, has served as an education professional for over a decade. A proud native of Baltimore, Hill is a product of the Baltimore City Public School System. A 2006 graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he was a Vocal Music Major. Hill completed his undergraduate studies at Morgan State University and earned a Master of Arts in Leadership In Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
Hill began his career in education as a long-term substitute teacher, became an ESOL Para Educator, and a classroom teacher, providing instruction in the subjects of Music and Computer Science. He was featured by Baltimore City Public Schools for his work in teaching computer programming and coding to Elementary School students at Arundel Elementary in Cherry Hill-the district's first and only primary learning campus community. In 2019, he served as Dean of Students at Reginald F. Lewis High School. In this role, Hill was instrumental in building and fostering positive relationships, improving chronic absenteeism, and family and community engagement.
Hill is committed to serving inner city urban youth and their families. He is also an advocate in promoting graduation and retention rates for Black Males through mentorship and college and career readiness initiatives. An innovative leader in literacy, school-wide culture and climate, quality intentional instruction, and restorative justice, his motto for student success is: "Your Success Is My Business."
